Taken and Abandoned - September 27, 2010

There I was in the middle of no where all alone, if only I hadn’t made that fatal mistake only a few days ago.

You see the day started really well with the whole family heading down to Sydney to celebrate my gram’s birthday. We are from Geelong so we aren’t really used to all the hustle and bustle of Sydney life.

We had to stop 4 hours into our driving adventure, when our car started to make funny noises and smoke started to come out of the bumper. Dad told us it wasn’t a problem and he would call the insurance agency.

After a minute on the phone, dad hung up with a disappointed look on his face. They won’t help as we are out of Melbourne. Then Mum told me I would have to sleep in the boot.

I hated sleeping in that boot, actually I didn’t sleep I was awake, I wanted to get back inside with the heating so I got out and suddenly I saw something in the distance, at first I thought it was a UFO but then I realised it was only a Cable Car. I thought we must have been really far out of Melbourne I didn’t think there were any there.

Shortly after I stood up and tried to get into the car, I heard a foot step behind me I spun around there was a man dressed like a penguin or a waiter standing there smiling at me. He asked me what I was doing, so I explained everything that happened. He seemed really nice and asked me if I would like to come and sleep in his car until morning. I said I’m not really tired, so he said ok how about a Sundae. I looked at my mum then shrugged my shoulders and started to wander over to his car.

A few moments later I heard thunder and saw lightning. Lucky you came by I told him. He smiled and nodded. Once inside his car I felt a little uneasy. My mum had told me never to go into a car with strangers, but this guy seemed really nice. So I soon forgot about it. He started to ask my some questions like what’s your favourite colour, red, animal, dolphin, sport, soccer and so on and so on. 

I must of fallen asleep because when I woke up I realised I was no longer in this mans car but instead what looked like an aquarium. There were fish, sharks, and tortoises, also pictures of boats, jet skis and submarines. At first I thought I was hallucinating then I thought I was dreaming. When I realised I was awake I became very scared. Then I heard a loud bang and the man who had taken me there entered.

I asked him where I was, and he ignored me. He turned and smiled, not a nice smile almost evil, it makes me shudder to think about it now. He told me that I wouldn’t be here for long. I asked him what he was going to do to me; he just turned to face the wall and chuckled.



This is when I realised I was going to die. I really missed my family. Suddenly I noticed a knife near one of the fish tanks. The man turned a lever and I heard air coming out and the last thing I remember was a golden key.

I am now here, not dead but very close to it. I haven’t had a meal and no water. I may only have a few hours even minutes left. I now realise that it was odd that this man never gave me the sundae he offered. I don’t even know why he took me. It’s not like he did anything to me besides take me here and leave me to die.

One last thing, mum and dad if you find this, I wrote this so you wouldn’t feel guilty about my death. It was my entire fault I shouldn’t have gone with the man. So I guess this is goodbye. Say goodbye to the family for me and please don’t forget me,
