October 30, 2010
It was Halloween when it came to be
That the light up pumpkin stared at me
His sewn up mouth and holes for eyes
Had come to be what I despised
His home was on my neighbor's porch
Into my mind his face was scorched
I'd seen him there for all October
The month had passed with me sober
Until the night of the thirty-first
When I was overcome by my thirst
I walked to the corner store
Passing by the sidewalk whores
I bought myself two bottles of wine
The moon was rising, it seemed to shine
And as I passed by my neighbor's house
I began to scream and shout
For the pumpkin's eyes were set on me
It was so explicit, anyone could see
It gave me such a major fright
I slept with all the lights on that night
It was Halloween when it came to be
That the light up pumpkin stared at me
