Last Summer Together; Happy or Sad? - July 9, 2011

That’s right, it’s summer. Everyone wants to have fun; especially now, because the warm sun has finally decided to come out during our last two months before high school. We try to go out with friends as much as possible and always bring the camera to take pictures because it is our last summer together; our last summer before we all go our separate ways into high school. We all laugh at good times and try to take a mental note to keep this as a memory we want to remember. These are the fun little moments you want to take in before you have to face reality. Yes, it is sad not being able to come back to our same old school, making conversation with our friends every day, coming to our lockers in the morning and having daily chats with our locker buddies or learning the familiar studies that make us feel that all is well right now. But also, in a way, it’s kind of exciting. Exciting that we get to come to a new school, greet new friends, have a new locker with different buddies and learn new things that actually interest us. And every now and then we share inside jokes from the movies or from a school trip and we think ‘wow, why would I want to continue life facing challenges when I can just keep living life without fear?’ Well, that’s the kind of stuff we should be afraid of; not wanting to keep on facing life’s quests. Friends are always telling us that they aren’t enthusiastic about the change we’re facing in September and that they want to just stay with the same people and do the same things forever. But, when we are at a fast food restaurant and we are having so much fun and making constant noise that the managers have to quiet us down, it makes us realize that although we are having the time of our life, we don’t want to be doing this forever. We love this, yes. We love being the group of people that everyone stares at and thinks ‘they are the friends that have fun all the time.’ And I know this shouldn’t be a negative point, but, I don’t always want to have fun with the same group of friends. I want to experience the love, the fearless journeys, and the fun-filled adventures with different people as well. Of course, I absolutely adore my crowd, my hangouts, and my gossiping conversations therefore I want to enjoy it with various other crowds, try new places and talk with people more mature.

We all know we will miss what we had, but at the same time, we are all secretly happy to start a new chapter in our lives. And so, live summer till its fullest, eat your mouth off, run you hearts out, play like you’ve never before and take risks that a fearful person like you would never do because, although these past ten years have been an amazing ride, there is still more ahead of you to accomplish.
