Electric City - March 15, 2011
My life's gone cold but you bring me warmth
We will carry on through the coming storm
The windows of your car grow hazy now
Your hair's grown long since we left this town
and your smile's still as beautiful as it was,
my heart still stops whenever you pause,
your eyes still as blue as the creek that we threw,
our shoes into so we could walk on for miles,
come now love, come gently
fall back now, just let me,
carry you, so lightly
in my arms, in my arms
tonight well love like its our last night together,
your arms growing cold from this autumn weather,
we could stay here forever watch the changing leaves,
as they turn to red from there summer green,
watch the sun as it drowns in the distant horizon,
these leaves aren't falling they wither in dying,
in the distance we see the electricity,
beaming out of the electric city,
and we both know there's no turning back
come now love, come gently
fall back now, just let me
carry you, so lightly
in my arms, in my arms
