Electric Cities (continuation)- March 16, 2011
My life's gone cold but you bring me warmth
We will carry on through the coming storm
The windows of your car grow hazy now
Your hair's grown long since we left this town
and your smile's still as beautiful as it was,
my heart still stops whenever you pause,
your eyes still as blue as the creek that we threw,
our shoes into so we could walk on for miles,
tonight well love like its our last night together,
your arms growing cold from this autumn weather,
we could stay here forever watch the changing leaves,
as they turn to red from there summer green,
watch the sun as it drowns in the distant horizon,
these leaves aren't falling they're withering, dying,
in the distance we see the electricity,
beaming out of these electric cities,
we both know we don't know what we're doing here
summer's gone and the city's lights are near,
look out your window see the concrete covering,
the open fields that we were once running in,
your face looks pale under polluted skies,
were surrounded by buildings higher then heaven,
I can see in your eyes that you've lost yourself in,
the city life and there's no turning back now,
we've forgot who we are five minutes in counting,
we've been taken in by these steel mountains,
as you lay in my arms your eyes seem darker,
I need you closer, I need you closer,
all that I want is to smile again,
to lay in the fields where we used to spend,
hours alone watching the leaves fall,
I need you closer, I need you closer
