Cursed Day - October 30, 2010

I sat on the porch of my house, gazing up to the starry night. I always come out here to watch the stars twinkle up the sky...to brighten my day. Something tragichappened to my familiy today... This was the day I found out that my DAther passed away. Cancer.He didn't deserve it at all. And the worst part? She died the day before Halloween. Today. Tommorow night, and this very time, my Dad and I would be walking down these very streets, trick-or-treating. Oh, this cursed day. Suddenly, I heard a snicker. I whirled around in alarm. Wasn't I the only one out here? Yet, all that was there was a jack-o-lantern, leaning nimbly up against the porch wall. It was a freshly cut jack-o-lantern, looking like one of my sisters so called masterpieces. Me and my Father used to do this together...making funky faces on them.It seemed as if it were staring at me with an unusual nasty smile, as if they could read my emotions. Immediately, it began to talk. " Ha. Your poor Daddy's dead. Remember when you and her used carve pumpins like me out together? Looks like you can't do that anymore! " One lantern laughed. Was this for real? Or was it my mental mind? No matter. I became instantly outraged. I charged up to it, and kicked it, sending it flying over into my mom's petunia garden. I watched as it splattered aganst the floor, its light burning my mom's precious flowers.  I didn't budge, nor bother to put the flame out. Let it burn. I sneered at the sight of it all. I blame the world of his death. Of his cancer. My blonde hair whipped in the night wind, a devious smile coming across my face. Nothing deserves to live if my Dad can't live. Nothing. This. Cursed. Day.
