United We Stand - August 17, 2011
Those of us who defend our flag
We're a special brand
We see a part of humanity that
Most would not understand
We're trained to fight for what we think is right
Against an enemy who's done the same
We trade in family and friends for a uniform and a gun
Is this all in vain?
Admist the...

Passion's Leaving - August 12, 2011
My soul is slipping fast
a smoky wisp escaping from my heart
as gravity takes over and
slowly, carefully
pushes me down while
the black void below
sucks me in
A slow motion moment
while a freeze frame plays:
acrid rejection
followed by bitter regret
a moment that I back away from
that...

Cereal Remedy - August 12, 2011
Cheerios in your bowl of cereal
Bid "Cheerio" to an English Mirial
"Three cheers for us!" Victory is ours
Cheerleaders assembling into towers
Cheer up old chap, good times are near
Cheering in the streets, the troops are here!
That cheerful face of yours is quite enlightening
A cheery...

The Siren's Song - August 5, 2011
now I've been sailing through your eyes,
the great pacific in disguise,
i set my sights for golden sands,
with the sirens song's commands,

and poseiden'll feel my wrath,
now...

CLOUDS - August 3, 2011
Dark black clouds
Rain pours
Troubled hearts
Tears fall.
Deep thoughts
Pictures on wall
Petalled notes
Memories recalled.
Behind the clouds
Sun shines

Let me be plain as rain and bright as gold, Jashwa Austin I do not love you.
Aye, I kissed you in the rain, gesturing quick with the crook of my little finger when Mrs. Perkisins wasn't looking. Old Ma says I outta stay away from your fense. I have to listen to what she says.
I let you smell my...

Celebrating - August 2, 2011
Hey! hey. I want to sing. You know that feeling like “I’ve never had before”. Like it’s something new for the thousandth time and I’ve breathed more than air. Can’t stop. Don’t wanna stop living, leaving, tasting, feeling. Gonna make you smile real slow from the inside since I won’t stop smiling....

The Skyline and Her Eyes - August 1, 2011
through the city and the days so cold,
i swear im the same man that i was before,
and its funny how nothing ever changes,
except for the seasons and the unfamilar faces,
ill look on through another dirty window,
watching on the other side helpless as its goes,
like a mother with a son and he was...

Toothless Mousers in Old Barns - July 30, 2011
Old women who were predators on men in their youth
remind me of old cats,
particularly the toothless mousers in the rafters of old barns.
These women have that same look in their eyes
of coldly discerning and exploiting the weaknesses of their prey.
No longer hiding that look behind long lashes...

Dreams - July 28, 2011
They sing like sirens that drown sailors
In spells that leave us trapped in the vicinity of our minds
For a night we make journeys and deal with lands of nonsense
Until sense is brought forth with the gate to morn
We meet friends or foes, fears or joys, perils or good times
They mirror our deepest...
